At the 6th African Digital Summit held in, Morocco’s National Broadcasting and Television Company (SNRT) received the top prize on Thursday for its video-on-demand platform called “Forja.”
Forja is Morocco’s first video-on-demand platform, similar to Netflix and Amazon Prime. It was launched in April and quickly garnered popularity, amassing 6.57 million views as of the end of August.
The platform won the gold prize in the “Best Digital Platforms in UX/CX/UI” category, in recognition of its exceptional user experience.
Receiving the award was Bissane Khairat, SNRT’s Director of Marketing and Programming.
Forja offers an extensive catalog of 4,000 hours of Moroccan-produced content, including TV series, films, documentaries, and theater plays.

This year’s summit received a record-breaking 298 project submissions and handed out a number of awards to companies, agencies, and startups that are shaping the future of the digital ecosystem in Morocco and Africa.
