Morocco’s government council approved draft decree No. 2.23.100 on Thursday, which outlines the organization and maintenance of the register for real estate civil companies.
This draft decree is in accordance with Article 2-987 of Law 31.18, which amends and supplements the Dahir of 9 Ramadan 1331 (August 12, 1913), relating to the Code of Obligations and Contracts.
It stipulates the obligation for real estate civil companies and all their subsidiaries to be registered in the civil real estate register created for this purpose. Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament and government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, highlighted the importance of this registration during a press briefing following the council meeting.
Baitas also noted that this project seeks to implement the provisions of this article by organizing and maintaining the register of real estate civil companies electronically.
It will define the procedures for submitting registration requests for the civil real estate company and its subsidiaries, as well as the registration of subsequent amendments and cancellations. It will also specify the certificates and extracts from the register that the relevant court registry may issue to applicants.
Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi was also among the attendees.
