The Casablanca police, in collaboration with the Territorial Surveillance Agency (DGST), arrested four nationally wanted individuals on Monday for their alleged involvement in a criminal network linked to car theft, document forgery, fraud, and scams.
The law enforcement authorities arrested the suspects during simultaneous police operations in the rural areas of Dar Bouazza and Ouled Azzouz, located in Casablanca, on the evening of October 7.
The judicial investigations started after complaints from managers of car rental agencies who claimed to be victims of a criminal group that used false identity documents to rent cars allegedly sold illegally to other people.
During search operations, officers seized three rented cars and confiscated seven forged public institution stamps and a suspected fake medical certificate.
The origin of the vehicles seized is being verified to determine if they were stolen.
The suspects are now in police custody under the supervision of the relevant prosecutor’s office.
