Younes Sekkouri, Morocco’s Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment, and Skills, and Palestinian Minister of Labor Enas Attari met on Tuesday in Rabat to focus on strengthening the two countries’ cooperation in training and employment.
Meeting on the heels of Attari’s tour of the automotive sector, the two Ministers highlighted the importance of implementing agreements already in place between Morocco and the Palestinian National Authority to “benefit our Palestinian brothers [and sisters] from Morocco’s experience in the fields of industry and employment.
Sekkouri said during a press conference that Attari’s visit to Morocco carries “special significance.” Their talks addressed various programs related to employment and vocational training, especially “given the Palestinian interest in technology-oriented professions that provide access to global markets.”
Attari called the discussions “an opportunity to explore cooperation prospects between the two parties, particularly in terms of exchanging experience in the labor sector.” She said she hoped to strengthen cooperation with Morocco further to benefit from its experience in creating jobs.
The Palestinian minister had visited the Automotive Industry Training Institute in Amer Seflia, Kenitra, where she was briefed about Morocco’s vocational training experience in this area. She also toured the City of Trades and Skills in Tamesna, which she described as a “model to follow” in vocational training for its responsiveness to labor market needs.
