The Mawazine-Rhythms of the World Festival, one of the largest cultural events in the world, will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a program that is scheduled to run from June 20 to 28, 2025, in Rabat, according to a statement from the Morocco Cultures Association.
Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the festival promotes values of peace, openness, tolerance, and respect, and is working to ensure broad access for all to its diverse cultural offerings by continuing to offer free admission for 90% of its festival-goers.
The event features a lineup of global and Arab music stars, as well as emerging young Moroccan talent.
“For this new edition, one of the largest cultural events in the world promises a high-quality program full of surprises for all music and culture lovers,” a spokesperson for the Morocco Cultures Association said.
The previous version, held in 2024, attracted over 2.5 million spectators during its nine-day run across various stages in Rabat and nearby Salé.
Since its inception in 2001, Mawazine has become a must-attend event for music enthusiasts in Morocco, drawing over 2 million festival-goers in recent years, and earning its title as the second-largest cultural festival globally.
Each year, Mawazine features a curated program that showcases the talents of established stars and rising artists alike. The festival is particularly dedicated to promoting Moroccan music, with more than half of its programming focused on national talent.
In addition to its cultural contributions, the festival is playing a role in boosting the regional tourism economy and developing Morocco’s entertainment industry.
Morocco Cultures, the organizing body behind Mawazine, is a non-profit association dedicated to providing professional-quality cultural and artistic events for the Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaër region.
