Akdital Group, Morocco’s largest private healthcare provider, opened the International Clinic of Errachidia on Monday, according to a statement from the company.
The new clinic meets international healthcare standards and provides advanced treatment options to the residents of Drâa-Tafilalet, a region historically underserved by modern medical infrastructure, the company said in the statement.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including the Wali of the Drâa-Tafilalet region, Bouchâab Yahdih, and Akdital Group CEO, Rochdi Talib, among other local and regional dignitaries.
“This is a major milestone for healthcare in this part of Morocco,” Talib said. “For the first time, residents, particularly cancer patients requiring long-term care, won’t need to travel to distant cities for specialized treatments, saving them both time and costs.”
The clinic boasts a capacity of 157 beds and features eight operating rooms, equipped to handle a broad range of medical and surgical specialties.
The clinic is prepared to treat a wide variety of conditions including complex surgeries such as neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, and oncological treatments.
The facility will be open 24/7, offering emergency services and specialized care at all hours. The clinic also includes a fully equipped intensive care unit (ICU) with 38 beds and an advanced critical care department for both general and cardiovascular emergencies.
“This is the first facility of its kind in the Drâa-Tafilalet region,” Talib added. “It will provide critical services like cancer care, which includes both chemotherapy and radiotherapy, meaning that patients can receive high-quality care without leaving the area.”
The International Clinic of Errachidia’s oncology center is one of its flagship services. The center offers cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy using the latest technology, including a radiotherapy accelerator. The center also houses a day hospital for chemotherapy.
The facility is also home to a radiology department equipped with MRI, CT scanners, ultrasound, and mammography, providing the region with diagnostic services that were previously only available in larger cities.
“This facility is designed to serve the people of this region in every possible way,” said Talha Abderrahim, the clinic’s medical director. “We offer a wide range of services, from cardiology to maternity care, with modern technology and highly trained staff. Our goal is to provide top-quality healthcare closer to home.”
The International Clinic of Errachidia is just one part of Akdital Group’s strategy to expand its market footprint across Morocco. The group currently operates 26 healthcare facilities in 15 cities, with a total of 2,828 beds.
In December 2022, Akdital Group became the first healthcare company listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
