The 15th El Jadida Horse Show, “Salon de Cheval,” exhibiting Morocco’s longstanding equestrian culture over the last week, attracted nearly 200,000 visitors and featured around 1,000 horses from over 40 countries, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported.
The head of the horse show, Commissioner El Habib Merzak, said this year’s successful show was “the result of the joint efforts of all stakeholders.”
Merzak underscored the event’s role in “fostering international partnerships,” particularly with the signing of a partnership covering equestrian matters with France.
As a result of institutional and professional meetings during the show, other cooperation agreements with local and international partners were signed, MAP reported.
Morocco’s Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan presided over the finals of the 7th Grand Prize of King Mohammed VI in the Tbourida, more commonly known as the Fantasia, a dramatic Moroccan tradition performed by a precision formation of men on horseback who gallop across a field and fire their rifles at the exact same moment.
Held under the High Patronage of Mohammed VI, this year’s El Jadida Horse Show was entitled “Equine Breeding in Morocco: Innovation and Challenge.” The event featured high-level competitions, exhibits, workshops, and conferences focused on various aspects of equestrian culture.
Sponsored by the Horse Show Association, the event promotes Morocco’s equestrian heritage in sports, culture, and celebrations.
