Finland reaffirmed its “strong commitment” to the EU-Morocco strategic partnership after the recent ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) invalidating the agriculture and fisheries agreement.
The ruling concerns the labeling of products from Morocco’s southern provinces. It follows a 2021 CJEU decision favoring the Polisario Front, which claims the EU-Morocco deal was concluded without the consent of the Sahrawi people.
The Embassy of Finland in Rabat also endorsed the joint statement released by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Vice President Josep Borrell, in a post on its official X account.
Morocco’s European Union partners have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining strong ties with the Kingdom, including France, Spain, Belgium, and Italy.
