The 25th Rallye du Maroc, the final stage of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), kicked off on Saturday in Marrakech, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported.
This year’s event gathers top international and Arab talent, making for an exciting and competitive race across Morocco’s challenging terrains.
Covering a total distance of 2,468 kilometers, with 1,512 kilometers designated for special stages, the competition is expected to push participants to their limits.
This year’s competition is marked by a strong presence of Moroccans, both men and women.
Representing the Kingdom is the “Africa Rally Team,” featuring Jawhara Bennani and Amine Guessous in the “Challenge” category, as well as Ali Obassi and Hanane Amraoui in the “Open” category.
Bennani, participating for the first time, expressed her pride in representing Moroccan women at the world championship level.
“I am thrilled to participate for the first time and to represent Moroccan women in this world-class event,” she said.
The rally’s director, David Castera, highlighted the significance of the event, marked by the participation of 271 vehicles, including 126 FIA-regulated cars and 136 motorcycles, representing 28 countries.
“This installment is full of excitement, with fierce competition among major players in the sport,” he added.
The 25th edition of the Rallye du Maroc promises to be an unforgettable conclusion to the W2RC season, with its combination of seasoned champions and emerging talent all vying for the prestigious title.
