The commission closed four restaurants and issued 59 warnings. It also collected 43 samples of food products offered for sale for laboratory analysis.
The commission includes representatives from local authorities; the National Police (DGSN), the Royal Gendarmerie; the Economic Affairs division; provincial coordination; Civil Protection; the provincial Health and Social Protection delegation; and the municipal hygiene service of Tetouan.
It also consists of representatives from the provincial Directorate of Commerce and Industry, as well as the plant protection and veterinary services of the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA).
The commission conducted the inspections during the summer season, which saw an increased demand for fast food. The inspections seek to ensure the safety and health of citizens.
