Morocco’s cultural diversity took center stage at the Village de la Francophonie, an exhibition which opened on Tuesday in Paris leading up to the 19th Francophonie Summit.
The Moroccan pavilion, presented by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, featured an array of examples of Moroccan heritage, fusing elements of traditional culture with modern milestones of sustainable development in the Kingdom.
The pavilion quickly drew large crowds as visitors enjoyed Morocco’s colorful landscapes, albeit virtually.
The journey began with a virtual reality tour of the country’s most iconic historical landmarks, immersing participants in both tangible and intangible aspects of Moroccan culture.
Secretary-General of the Department of Culture Samira Lemlizi highlighted Morocco’s dedication to Francophonie and its commitment to global cultural dialogue, MAP reported.
Further exhibits explored Morocco’s diverse heritage, showcasing a collection of art books that chronicle the nation’s key historic milestones—from the Green March to recent developments spearheaded by King Mohammed VI.
Sports fans were taken to the soccer pitch, in a segment celebrating the achievements of the Atlas Lions in recent years, a nod to Morocco’s passion for soccer.
The Moroccan pavilion made sure to put one of the events’ main themes front and center: “Create, Innovate, and Build” in French.” Visitors were drawn in by a live calligraphy demonstration entitled “Youth and Innovation,” highlighting Morocco’s deep artistic tradition.
The Village de La Francophonie offers a vibrant lineup of events featuring contributions from dozens of French speaking countries. Visitors can experience a wide array of activities, from theater and concerts to immersive digital art, photography, cinema, and even hip-hop performances.
