A new ‘Digital Trades Complex’ opened its doors on Tuesday in Lahraouyine, located in the Mediouna province near Casablanca, to strengthen the digital skills of the region’s youth, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported.
Part of INDH’s third program, the complex offers various specialized training programs, including software development, programming languages, application and website development, data analysis, digital marketing, cybersecurity, performance analysis, and artificial intelligence. It also provides training in digital project management, covering effective planning and implementation methods in the digital environment, as well as social entrepreneurship.
The project also features entrepreneurship training spaces and programs with funding agencies to equip participants with the knowledge needed to create sustainable projects and tackle challenges in the modern digital market.
It involves the “Ibdaa” organization, which endeavors to help young people gain digital skills and enhance companies’ capabilities in new technologies.
The initiative aligns with Morocco’s National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) and supports the national strategy “Morocco Digital 2030.”
During the opening, Hassan Bela, Head of the support department for vulnerable individuals in Mediouna, told MAP that “the complex will help young people qualify for the job market as part of a broader strategy to adapt to changing labor market trends in Morocco.”
Bela noted that “the rehabilitation of the complex, costing about 900,000 DH, received funding from both the INDH and Ibda organization.”
Mohammed Chouhani, a representative of the complex, highlighted that “Ibdaâ seeks to attract youth who have dropped out of school, giving them a second chance through training that facilitates their access to the job market.” He pointed out that the complex currently hosts around 100 young people in various digital-related training programs, with courses lasting between 3 and 6 months.
Mediouna prefecture hosted a ceremony at Ibn Nafis School in the Rachad neighborhood, focusing on environmental education for preschoolers under the theme “Preschool, the Cornerstone of the Educational System.”
Assia Naim from the social action division of Mediouna stated that “the provincial human development committee in partnership with the provincial directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports co-sponsored the event.” She noted that the initiative’s goal is to promote environmental protection culture among younger generations through various workshops.
