British company Weir Group PLC successfully bid for a contract with OCP Group for energy-efficient separation solutions in Morocco worth USD 3.53 million, according to “Market Watch” on Monday.
“The order will support the continued construction of the Louta project and the trebling of production from the Benguerir project, where Weir has previously provided similar separation and desliming solutions also based on our market leading Warman slurry pump and Cavex hydrocyclone technology,” the company stated.
Under the contract, Weir’s solutions will support OCP’s expansion of production and construction of new facilities.
The company’s local service center in Morocco will provide aftermarket support, ensuring optimal operation of the supplied equipment.
Weir said that the deal aligns with its commitment to sustainable and efficient mining operations in the region.
Weir’s technology has a proven track record, having previously supplied similar solutions for a project in Benguerir.
Weir’s spokesperson stated that the order will triple production at Benguerir and continue construction at the Louta project.
The order will be recognized in Weir’s order book during the third quarter of 2024, strengthening its market presence. The current stock price for Weir Group is 2,190.00 pence, reflecting a 17% increase over the past 12 months.
