“Network International,” a prominent leader in digital commerce across the Middle East and Africa, has officially announced its expansion into Morocco, marking a pivotal step in its strategic growth across Francophone Africa, according to the company’s release.
The recent move is set to enhance Morocco’s digital payment landscape, leveraging the company’s extensive 30-year expertise in the industry.
The company’s goal is to accelerate the digitization of payments in the Kingdom by introducing innovative technologies specifically designed for Moroccan financial institutions and businesses.
This expansion aligns with Morocco’s growing role as a key gateway to Francophone Africa, a region ripe for digital transformation in financial services.
“Morocco represents a major strategic opportunity for us, not only due to its robust financial ecosystem but also because of its pivotal role in Francophone Africa. We firmly believe that our expertise, combined with our innovative technology, will significantly contribute to the country’s digital transformation,” said the CEO Nandan Mer.
He added that the company’s mission is to simplify commerce and make payments more accessible and inclusive in the region.
Casablanca has been selected as the base for the company’s African operations, joining other hubs on the continent to support the local shift towards digital payments. According to Dr. Reda Helal, Group Managing Director for Africa and Co-Head Group Processing, Network International aims to enhance the adoption of digital payments in Morocco by drawing on local talent and offering innovative solutions tailored to the specific needs of the market.
Helal highlighted that the company’s comprehensive range of solutions will allow banks, fintechs, telecom operators, and payment institutions to pursue growth opportunities while complying with local regulations.
Morocco’s rapidly expanding payment sector is expected to witness significant growth in the coming years, especially with high-profile events such as the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025 and the FIFA World Cup in 2030 on the horizon.
These events are likely to further boost the demand for efficient digital payment systems, and Network International’s expertise in adapting to different regulatory environments is expected to play a critical role in meeting these demands.
The company’s presence in Morocco further solidifies its position in Francophone Africa, capitalizing on the region’s shared cultural and linguistic ties.
Network International, which operates in over 50 markets, is well-versed in catering to diverse consumer needs and regulatory environments. Its entry into Morocco is poised to help local financial institutions provide more efficient payment solutions while improving the user experience for both consumers and merchants.
