The LabelVie Group, a retail company in Morocco set a new Guinness World Record on Saturday for the largest assortment of mille-feuille pastries ever displayed in a hypermarket at the Carrefour in Temara south of Rabat.
The supermarket’s display featured the classic French pastry, crafted in 100 distinct varieties, showcased in five different categories: “Traditional Moroccan Mille-feuilles,” “All-Chocolate Mille-feuilles,” “Mille-feuilles with a Thousand Fruits,” “Organic and Healthy Mille-feuilles,” and even a non-sweet option, “Savory Mille-feuilles.”
The event highlighted the culinary creativity of Moroccan pastry chefs. “By setting this record, we are celebrating the exceptional talent of Moroccan pastry chefs and adding a new dimension to this beloved dessert,” Ghalem Aoun, Director of Carrefour Témara told a local media outlet. “We are excited to share this achievement with our customers and offer them a unique taste experience.”
The event was supported by Sofadex, a key player in Morocco’s bakery and confectionery sector. Sofadex collaborated with Carrefour Témara’s pastry chefs to develop the recipes for the 100 varieties of mille-feuilles presented at the event.
