Iranian flag carrier, Iran Air, has suspended all flights to the Lebanese capital amid Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, international media reported.
The spokesperson of the Islamic Republic of Iran Airlines known as Iran Air announced on Saturday “the cancellation of national airlines flights to Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport until further notice.”
This followed Hezbollah’s confirmation on Saturday of the death of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, who was reportedly killed in an airstrike that struck the group’s leadership headquarters in southern Beirut on Friday.
Israel has been bombarding the Lebanese cities including the capital since early this week.
Hezbollah’s leadership vowed to “continue jihad against the enemy, supporting Gaza and Palestine, and defending Lebanon and its steadfast people.”
