Morocco’s Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch participated in a luncheon to discuss the Paris Pact for People and the Planet, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron and Special Envoy Macky Sall on Wednesday at the United Nations headquarters in New York, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported.
The meeting involved several heads of state and government, along with representatives from international financial institutions, to address the goals and implementation of the Paris Pact.
The Kingdom of Morocco joined the Paris Pact for People and the Planet initiative in 2023, reiterating its pledge to facilitate this initiative as part of a unified effort towards a more inclusive and just global governance structure, MAP said.
Established at the Paris Summit for a New Global Financing Pact in June 2023, the Paris Pact for People and the Planet (4Ps) outlines four key principles to help vulnerable countries access international financing, enabling them to better address crises and climate challenges under a more balanced global governance framework.
