Brazil’s national futsal team secured a decisive 5-0 victory over Costa Rica, thus advancing to the quarterfinals of the Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan.
Brazil’s Marcel opened the scoring for his team in the fifth minute, and Felipe Valerio followed shortly after in the 12th minute. Leandro Lino extended their lead in the 28th minute, converging reports noted. Fellow team member, Neguinho, scored two goals in the 36th and 40th minute.
Brazil is scheduled to face the winner of the upcoming Morocco vs Iran game in Bukhara on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
The Atlas Lions futsal team ranks second in Group E, with two wins in the group stage against Panama (6-3) and Tajikistan (4-2), but fell 4-1 to defending champions Portugal.
