Six researchers from the International University of Rabat (UIR) have been ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide, according to Stanford University’s prestigious 2024 global ranking.
The six researchers named in the ranking are Mounir Ghogho, Asmae Berrada, Mohamed Balli, Said Ahzi, Amine Belhadi, and Foued Saâdaoui. Their work spans a broad range of disciplines, including engineering, social sciences, medicine, and information technology, according to a statement from UIR.
Stanford’s ranking is based on rigorous criteria such as the quality of scientific publications, citation impact, and overall contributions to global scientific advancements.
The list is compiled using data from SCOPUS, the leading international database for scientific publications, and recognizes both lifetime achievements and researchers’ scientific output for 2023.
Being included among the top 2% of the world’s best scientists is a significant accolade, not only for the researchers themselves but also for UIR as an institution. “Being listed among the top 2% of scientists is a major distinction for UIR and reflects the quality of its academic research and its commitment to excellence,” the university said in a statement.
The global recognition also highlights the diversity of expertise among UIR researchers. “These experts not only contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge but also enhance UIR’s international reputation as a leading research institution,” the statement continued.
