Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, in collaboration with the Foundation for Research, Development, and Innovation in Science and Engineering (FRDISI) signed, on Friday, a partnership agreement to advance research and development in the field of digital transformation.
The agreement was formalized by Minister Delegate Ghita Mezzour and Andre Azoulay, Chairman of FRDISI’s Board of Directors.
The initiative aims to foster innovation in Morocco’s digital sector, with a particular focus on supporting 18 doctoral research projects. Each selected project will receive a monthly stipend of MAD 7,000 (approximately USD 680) for a three-year period, along with mentorship and professional guidance.
In a statement, the ministry said that the partnership reflects ongoing efforts to support emerging talent in Morocco’s thriving tech and digital sectors. By promoting research in digital transformation, the government seeks to harness the potential of young innovators and position Morocco as a leader in the digital economy.
This agreement is part of the ongoing support from the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform for young talents and skills in the areas of digitization and new technologies, following a participatory approach involving various stakeholders.
According to the ministry, the agreement also aims to “contribute to strengthening the integration of our youth into future careers, while encouraging them to innovate.”
It is equally “in line with the vision of King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, who has called for the training of a sufficient number of qualified and specialized human resources in the digital field and the promotion of this culture across different segments of society,” the statement concludes.
