Sanjay Rana, a career Indian Foreign Service officer, has been appointed as India’s new Ambassador to Morocco, replacing Rajesh Vaishnaw, announced the Indian Foreign Ministry in a statement, along with other appointments to India’s diplomatic corps across several countries.
Rana is currently serving as India’s Ambassador to Bulgaria and is expected to take up his new assignment in Morocco soon.
Meanwhile, Ravindra Prasad Jaiswal, also a former Indian Foreign Service officer, has been appointed as India’s next Ambassador to Albania, and will be assuming his role shortly.
India established diplomatic relations with Albania in 1956, and Jaiswal currently holds the position of Joint Secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs.
Additionally, V. Venkataraman has been named India’s new Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo, with his assignment to commence soon.
Rohitkumar R Vadhwana, a former foreign service officer in 2010, has been appointed as India’s Ambassador to Bolivia. He is currently serving as Deputy High Commissioner in Nairobi.
India and Morocco share strong diplomatic ties, with relations dating back to 1957. The two nations cooperate in various sectors, including trade, culture, and technology.
