The Irish airline, Ryanair has introduced a new flight route between Girona, located in northeastern Spain, and Morocco’s central city Beni Mellal, Elena Cabrera, Ryanair’s Director for Spain, Portugal, France, and Morocco, stated on Wednesday.
The low-cost airline will operate three weekly flights, Cabrera said during a presentation of the company’s growth plan at Girona-Costa Brava Airport, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported.
She explained that this new route is part of Ryanair’s strategy to realign its destinations from Girona, including new services to Marrakech and Beni Mellal.
“We are committed to the ongoing development of the airport. The objective is to reach a passenger throughput of three million,” she said.
Ryanair had planned a record summer 2024 program with 12 Moroccan airports, targeting over five million passengers, a 31% increase in traffic into, out of, and within Morocco, MAP reported.
