Morocco’s national football team, the Atlas Lions, dominated 14th place in the latest men’s world ranking of 210 teams released by the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) on Thursday.
The Atlas Lions remained Africa’s premier team with a total of 1676.14 points, an increase of 7.14 points from the previous ranking. Senegal placed second in the 21st position, ahead of Egypt which finished 31st worldwide.
Morocco also leads football in the Arab world, according to FIFA, with Iran ranking second in 19th place overall followed by Egypt.
Argentina once again topped the FIFA rankings, cementing its status as a world football juggernaut. The other teams in the top three are France and Spain, with England, Brazil, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Colombia, and Italy rounding out the top ten.
