The new school year in Midelt province, Central Morocco, began on a positive note, with a strong focus on improving educational and socio-sports infrastructure, Morocco’s News Agency MAP reported on Sunday.
The Governor of the province, Mustapha Nouhi, and other dignitaries inaugurated new school facilities and community sports fields on Saturday, to enhance educational services in the region.
The governor and his delegation inaugurated the EL Hassan Dakhil Secondary School, a 438-student facility designed to expand educational services and improve access to secondary education in the commune of Midelt.
In the town of Ighzdiss, within the Boumia commune, the governor initiated the construction of a 750,000 MAD synthetic sports field to motivate local youth to participate in sports and develop their abilities.
Three new preschools have been opened in the community of Tizi n’Ghchou. Implemented by the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) at a cost of over MAD 958,000, the facilities are designed to improve rural preschool education, support children’s transition into the education system, and provide essential basic skills.
The governor also inaugurated a 4.9 million MAD artificial turf football field in the Aghbalou community. Developed by the Provincial Directorate of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, the field is designed to enhance the athletic skills of children and youth in the region.
The governor conducted an on-site assessment of the construction progress of Dar Al Oumouma in Itzer commune. The 487-square-meter facility, valued at over 2 million MAD, encompasses women’s sanitation blocks, reception and orientation areas for pregnant women, a reception hall, and other facilities.
