The Casablanca-Settat Chamber of Commerce (CCIS-CS) and the US Commercial Service organized a meeting in Casablanca on Thursday to promote Morocco’s footwear industry in the US which took place at a footwear factory in Aïn Sebaa.
Hassan Berkani, president of CCIS-CS, emphasized the significant potential of Morocco’s footwear sector and the need to promote it internationally, especially in the U.S.
The visit aligns with CCIS-CS efforts to strengthen economic ties between Morocco and the U.S. and explore new business opportunities for Moroccan companies.
Mohamed Elfane, president of the Moroccan Franchise Federation (FMF), stated that this visit provides a chance to showcase Moroccan expertise and facilitate access to the U.S. market.
Elfane, who is also the rapporteur for the International Partnership and Cooperation Commission at CCIS-CS, highlighted the importance of strengthening trade relations to drive economic growth.
He expressed hopes that the visit would lead to solutions for overcoming trade barriers, boosting Moroccan exports to the U.S.
The US General Consul Marissa Scott noted that the visit offered a closer look at Moroccan manufacturers’ capabilities, stressing the need to build strong ties between Moroccan and U.S. companies.
Scott added that the U.S. market seeks distinctive products with high standards, and “Made in Morocco” meets these criteria, making it attractive to American consumers.
This initiative by CCIS-CS seeks to identify and remove barriers to bilateral trade and encourage dialogue to enhance commercial exchanges between Morocco and the U.S.
