Moroccan association for research and design “R&D Maroc” and public financial institution “Tamwilcom” have launched an incubation program as part of the new edition of the “Fonds Innov Invest (F2I),” offering up to MAD 400,000 to promising Moroccan startups.
The program, called “R&D Maroc 60 Startups,” aims to provide selected startups with mentorship and potential financial support through the “Tech Start” grant.
The initiative plans to select 12 innovative startups, offering grants of MAD 200,000 per project, with the possibility of increasing the amount to MAD 400,000 for patented projects in incubation funds, according to the program’s announcement released on Tuesday.
Running from 2024 to 2029, “R&D Maroc 60 Startups” focuses on startups that have moved beyond the concept proof stage, guiding them in developing prototypes or Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) ready for market launch.
Participants will receive leadership advice, professional coaching, and mentorship, along with training in critical areas such as business development, commercial growth strategies, and fundraising. The program also offers opportunities to network with investors, clients, and other startups. By the end, startups are expected to complete a business model and plan, go-to-market strategy, and pitch deck.
R&D Maroc, a nonprofit organization founded in 1997, promotes research, development, and innovation in Morocco, with a focus on supporting the creation of startups. This initiative is made possible through its partnership with Tamwilcom, a state-owned financial institution.
Tamwilcom, formerly known as Caisse Centrale de Garantie (CCG), leverages its extensive experience to facilitate financing for small businesses and startups. As Morocco’s primary public financing guarantor, Tamwilcom collaborates with financial partners to provide funding solutions at each stage of a company’s lifecycle, driving economic growth in the country.
Morocco has increasingly supported startups, recognizing their role in driving economic development and fostering innovation.
