Galatasaray announced that its star midfielder Hakim Ziyech will be sidelined for at least three weeks due to a muscle injury, according to a report from BeINsports.
The Moroccan international suffered the injury during a recent Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier match against Lesotho.
According to the club’s statement, Ziyech experienced pain in his upper right thigh during the match while representing Morocco.
After his return to Istanbul, the 31-year-old was evaluated at Galatasaray’s medical partner, Medicana Hospital. The diagnosis revealed a Grade 2 strain in the upper right thigh muscle group, involving bleeding and a partial tear.
Ziyech played a significant role in Morocco’s stellar run in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. The Galatasaray midfielder scored two goals for the national football team during their first match against Gabon last week.
