Morocco is the third most attractive trade destination in Africa, according to the 2024/2025 Country Brand Ranking released by Bloom Consulting.
This year marks a significant milestone for the North African nation, which has secured a top-three position for the first time in the history of the ranking.
Morocco’s rise can be attributed to stable foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows, innovative online marketing through D2 Digital Demand, and strong performance across various digital platforms, the consultancy explains.
The report spotlights Morocco’s “growing influence and strategic positioning in African trade,” which reflects its enhanced appeal and competitiveness in the region.
While Morocco’s ascent is notable, it still lags behind South Africa and Nigeria, which occupy the first and second positions, respectively. On the global stage, Morocco ranks 44th.
The Country Brand Ranking evaluates nations based on several criteria, including their attractiveness for investment, tourism, talent acquisition, diplomatic efforts, and export potential.
In recent years, Morocco has made substantial progress in establishing itself as a regional trade hub. In 2018, the country surpassed South Africa to become the continent’s largest exporter of automobiles. In 2022, Morocco had produced 470,000 vehicles.
Morocco’s long-term vision is centered on sustainable and inclusive development, with the country well on its way to realizing its potential as a global manufacturing powerhouse.
Decades of strategic investment in high-speed rail, highway infrastructure, education, and renewable energy have laid the foundation for a robust production and export ecosystem.
The ecosystem is designed to support the transformation of industries as they adapt to the demands of the digital age and embrace a low-carbon future.
