The National Professional Football League (LNFP) and the National Association of Media and Publishers (ANME) signed a new partnership agreement for football media coverage on Tuesday in Casablanca.
The agreement, signed under the auspices of the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), was signed by LNFP President Abdeslam Belkchour and ANME President Driss Chahtane.
This partnership aims to establish a program for planning and organizing media coverage of sports events in Morocco.
The goal is to enable national media to professionally cover events involving national teams, enhancing sports media quality.
According to the agreement, ANME will coordinate with media outlets and deploy accredited journalists for event coverage.
ANME will ensure journalists work in designated areas at local, regional, and national competitions.
The LNFP will delegate tasks to ANME, including managing journalist access and overseeing post-match press conferences.
Belkchour emphasized that this agreement aims to elevate the national sports press to meet international standards.
He noted the significant presence of Moroccan journalists at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
The partnership is also intended to strengthen relations between LNFP and ANME for covering national and international events.
Chahtane stated that the initiative stems from agreements with FRMF, the Ministry of Sports, and the Moroccan National Olympic Committee.
He highlighted the need for well-prepared sports media for upcoming events like the Africa Cup and World Cup.
A reception was held for Moroccan journalists heading to Uzbekistan for the Futsal World Cup from September 14 to October 6.
