The Moroccan karate delegation performed exceptionally, winning 18 medals at the recent African Karate Championship for Cadets, Juniors, and U21, held in Tunisia from September 5–8, the Royal Moroccan Federation of Karate and Associated Disciplines (FRMKDA) reported on Tuesday.
Among the team’s winnings, they secured five gold, three silver, and 10 bronze medals.
Taking home the gold medals were karateka Souhaib Azibou in Kata Cadet -57 kg, Mohammed Es-Saidy in Kumite Junior -55 kg, Rim Dourai in Kumite U21 -50 kg, Salah Eddine El Bahry in Kumite U21 -75 kg, and Mohamed Amine Badjou in Kumite U21 -85 kg.
Silver medals went to Marwa Salmi in the U21 Kumite, Roumayssae Tarkou in the Kumite Junior -53 kg, and Tijani Lamoum in the Kata Junior category.
The bronze medalists are Doae Choukri in the U21 Kumite -61 kg, Nejma Imitik in the U21 Kumite -55 kg, Ahmed Haddadi in the U21 Kumite -60 kg, Douaa El Machouat in Kumite Junior -59 kg, and Jihane Bahajjou in Kumite Junior -59 kg.
Othmane Hebbal in Kumite Junior +76 kg, Hamza Hadri in Kumite Junior -76 kg, and Rayane Bouzman in Kumite Cadet -63 kg, along with the Kata Team of Tijani Lamoum, Adam Rchouq, and Abderrahmane Chakir also received bronze medals.
