Morocco’s Meteorological Agency (DGM) alerted that heavy thunderstorms, along with hail and wind gusts, are forecast for several provinces in the kingdom on Wednesday and Thursday.
In a red alert, the DGM indicated that Figuig, located in northeastern Morocco, anticipates heavy rainfall beginning on Wednesday at 1:00 PM through Thursday at 3:00 AM. The precipitation levels are expected to reach 70 to 90 mm.
The projected weather patterns also concern the provinces of Jerada, Boulemane, Midelt, and Errachidia with rainfall estimated to range from 50 to 70 mm.
The provinces of Oujda-Angad and Taourirt expect precipitation levels of between 30 and 50 mm, according to an “orange alert” issued for Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., DGM announced.
