Ending Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people is key to achieving a final and equitable solution to the Palestinian issue, according to the Rabat Declaration.
The declaration, issued on Tuesday in Rabat, strongly condemned the atrocities committed by Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. It was released during the 52nd meeting of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Union of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC).
The declaration also denounced the actions of extremist settlers who are systematically destroying properties belonging to Palestinian citizens in the West Bank.
The declaration comes as the death toll from Israeli actions in Palestinian territories has reached 41,000.
The Rabat Declaration urged the international community, particularly the leading powers involved in shaping international decisions, as well as the United Nations, to take all necessary measures to immediately end the aggression, lift the blockade on Palestinian territories, ensure access to food and medicine for Gaza residents, and provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
In addition, the declaration called on multilateral parliamentary organizations and national assemblies worldwide to pressure the Israeli occupation to cease its aggression and to facilitate an immediate exchange of hostages between the two parties.
The two-day meeting also included the adoption of the agenda and work program, the establishment of the draft agenda for the Standing Specialized Committees and Subcommittees, and the adoption of the draft agenda for the 26th session of the General Committee of the Union and the 19th session of the PUIC Conference.
