Abderrazzak El Aoud, President of the Royal Moroccan Lifesaving Federation (FRMS) was elected to lead the West Africa (North Zone) region of the International Lifesaving Federation (ILS), at the ILS General Assembly, held recently in Gold Coast, Australia, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported on Monday, citing the federation’s press release.
In addition to his new role, El Aoud was also appointed vice president of the African Lifesaving Confederation.
Brahim Ben Zouina, FRMS Secretary-General was named Secretary-General of the African Lifesaving Academy.
The assembly also included the general meetings of the African Confederation and the African Lifesaving Academy.
During the meeting, the ILS Executive Board and General Assembly reviewed Morocco’s bid to host the World Lifesaving Championship in Agadir in 2026 and endorsed the Kingdom’s candidacy.
