Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita met with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdel Ati, on Tuesday in Cairo, to review bilateral relations and discuss avenues for enhanced cooperation, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two ministers agreed to enhance the coordination and consultations between their foreign ministries by promptly organizing the fourth session of the Mechanism for Dialogue, Coordination, and Political and Strategic Consultation at the earliest convenient date, according to the ministry.
The officials reaffirmed the strong bilateral ties between Morocco and Egypt, underscoring the mutual support, shared destiny, and aligned interests between both countries under the guidance of King Mohammed VI and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi.
During the meeting, Bourita and Abdel Ati also discussed several matters of mutual interest, primarily in the Arab, continental, and international contexts.
They also pledged to strengthen their cooperation through increased reciprocal visits of officials.
