The Moroccan para-athlete El Amin Chentouf, a two-time defending champion, claimed the bronze medal in the T12 marathon on Sunday at the Paris Paralympic Games.
Winner of the gold medal in both 2016 and 2021, Chentouf fell slightly short of a third consecutive win in this year’s marathon but still delivered a commendable performance.
He completed the marathon in a time of 2:24:35, placing him behind Spain’s Alberto Suarez Laso, who finished in 2:24:02, and Tunisia’s Wajdi Boukhili, who secured his first gold medal with a time of 2:22:05.
Chentouf now stands as Morocco’s most decorated paralympic athlete, with a total of five medals to his name: three gold, one silver, and one bronze.
