The Moroccan para-athlete Fatima Ezzahra El Idrissi won the gold medal in the T12 marathon at the Paris Paralympic Games on Sunday.
She finished the race in a record time of 2 hours, 48 minutes, and 36 seconds, thereby achieving a new world record for the event.
Her fellow compatriot Meryem En-Nourhi delivered an exceptional performance, securing the silver medal and finishing the marathon in 2 hours, 58 minutes, and 18 seconds.
Elena Congost of Spain claimed the bronze medal, completing the race in 3 hours and 48 seconds.
Morocco ranks 31st in the medal table with a total of 15 medals, including three gold, six silver, and six bronze.
