The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced on Saturday that the Moroccan national football team, the Atlas Lions, will play the Central African Republic for the third and fourth rounds of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifiers at Oujda’s Honneur Stadium, located in the northeast.
The matches are scheduled for October 7-15, 2024.
Despite Morocco’s automatic qualification as the host nation, the Atlas Lions commenced their AFCON 2025 campaign with a dominant 4-1 victory over Gabon on Friday in Agadir. They will next face Lesotho in Agadir on Monday.
Morocco is placed in Group B along with Gabon, Central African Republic, and Lesotho. A total of 23 teams will advance to the AFCON Championship, to be held in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
