The police of the northern city of Tetouan, in collaboration with the Territory Surveillance Agency (DGST), seized 4.4 kilograms of cocaine and 21.5 kilograms of cannabis resin in the coastal city of Martil on Friday morning, security sources reported.
Law enforcement officers arrested a 38-year-old primary suspect for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
Police executed a search warrant on the suspect’s residences and vehicles and confiscated a significant quantity of cocaine and cannabis, as well as electronic scales, a banknote counting machine, and a sum of money believed to be proceeds from his criminal activity.
The suspect is now in custody pending further investigation under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, which is looking at who may also be connected to these criminal activities, with an eye on regional and global links.
