The Moroccan tennis player Malak El Allami made history on Saturday by winning the US Open Juniors Women’s Doubles title at the age of 18 along with her Norwegian partner, Emily Sartz-Lunde.
The duo secured victory over the German-Czech pair of Julia Stusek and Julie Pastikova with a score of 6-2, 4-6, 10-6.
The victory signals El Allami’s first appearance in a Grand Final, representing a significant step forward in the athlete’s career.
The prodigy became the second Arab to achieve this milestone, following Tunisian Ons Jabeur’s win at Roland-Garros in 2011. She has also set a precedent for Moroccan tennis by becoming the country’s first junior Grand Slam title holder.
