Care center Operation Smile Morocco will organize a humanitarian surgical mission at the Hassan II Hospital in Agadir on September 14-19, according to the center’s official press release.
The mission seeks to perform cleft lip and palate surgeries for around 100 patients, providing them with transformative care.
Over 90 healthcare professionals from Morocco and 12 other countries will participate in this mission, including surgeons and specialists.
The mission will begin with medical examinations and patient triage on Sept. 14. The surgeries will continue from September 15-18. A post-operative assessment will be conducted the following day to ensure patients’ recovery from surgery.
In its 25 years of service, Operation Smile Morocco has restored smiles to over 13,420 children and adults.
The organization operates Centers of Excellence in Casablanca, El Jadida, and Oujda, with a new center in Marrakech currently under development.
The organization also offers training programs in cleft surgery and other medical fields, including its recent Helping Babies Breathe initiative (HBB).
A new pediatric surgery service will be launched at Bouafi Hospital in Casablanca by the end of 2024 to address the growing needs of the community.
