A total of 678,605 trainees commenced their vocational training on Wednesday at 2,250 centers across Morocco, as announced by Younes Sekkouri, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business and Employments.
This year marks a pivotal phase in implementing the strategic projects outlined in the Royal Roadmap for Vocational Training, with a notable increase in trainee numbers and the inauguration of new centers.
Following the official launch of the 2024-2025 training year in Meknes, Sekkouri highlighted the significance of these developments.
To support the growing demand, 24 new centers, including the Cities of Trades and Skills, are now operational, expanding the overall capacity to accommodate 21,865 trainees.
The ministry has also enhanced its social support system, particularly for trainees from rural areas, by opening four additional boarding facilities.
This brings the total number of such facilities to 143, with an accommodation capacity of 19,085 trainees.
In alignment with the Royal Vision for universal access to quality healthcare, the vocational training system in the health sector has been bolstered.
The number of training centers focused on health professions now stands at 347, including 326 private institutions, providing education to 52,791 students across 38 specialized fields.
“This effort underscores Morocco’s commitment to training qualified professionals to meet the sector’s growing needs,” Sekkouri emphasized.
