Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid presided over the inaugural ceremony of the first edition of the Cinema Festival at Rabat’s Megarama Cinema on Wednesday, the ministry announced in a press release.
Bensaid reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to enhancing public access to cinemas, particularly among young people, through opening more cinemas in cities across the Kingdom.
He also highlighted the “Youth Pass,” a program that offers cheaper movie tickets to make films more cost-effective and appealing to a broader audience, according to the same source.
The opening ceremony also featured the premiere of the newest feature film from Director Jihane El Bahar, entitled “Triple-A.” The director and lead actors, Majdouline Idrissi and Aziz Dadas respectively, took part in the ceremony.
Abdelaziz Bouzdaini, Director of the Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM), and several distinguished figures within the cultural and cinematic sectors attended the event.
The Cinema Festival runs from Sept. 7-10 in select cinemas and multi-plexes across Morocco. Tickets are available at a reduced price of 30 MAD for all films.
