Aziz Akhannouch, Head of the Moroccan Government, attended a reception hosted by China’s President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday.
The reception was held in honor of heads of state and government participating in the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit. This year’s event runs from September 4-6.
Akhannouch leads a high-level delegation including Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates; Mohcine Jazouli, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government for Investment, Convergence, and Public Policy Evaluation; and Chakib Alj, President of the Moroccan Employers’ Association (CGEM).
Launched in 2000, FOCAC is a pivotal partnership between China and Africa, grounded in principles of solidarity, cooperation, and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity. This triennial platform plays a crucial role in high-level political coordination, enhancing China’s position as a key partner and fostering robust dialogue and collaboration with African countries.
