Aya Gold & Silver Inc. has announced significant drill results from its ongoing exploration at the Zgounder Silver Mine in Morocco, revealing high-grade silver intercepts.
In the Central Zone from the 1,950m level, hole DZG-SF-24-081 intercepted 1,339 grams per tonne (g/t) silver over 9.5 meters, including 2,984 g/t over 4.0m. Hole DZG-SF-24-089 returned 2,522 g/t silver over 3.0m, with a high of 7,052 g/t over 1.0m.
The Western Zone, at the 2,000m level, featured hole ZG-SF-24-141, which intercepted 626 g/t silver over 6.0m. Another hole, ZG-SF-24-163, showed 536 g/t silver over 7.0m.
In the Eastern Zone, also from the 2,000m level, hole DZG-SF-24-111 recorded 2,372 g/t silver over 6.5m and 1,042 g/t over 4.5m. Hole DZG-SF-24-098 intercepted 1,244 g/t silver over 4.0m, with 2,242 g/t over 2.0m.
Exploration near the granite contact included hole ZG-SF-24-183 with 376 g/t silver over 9.3m, and DZG-SF-24-164, which showed 657 g/t silver over 10.5m, including 1,037 g/t over 4.5m.
Aya Gold & Silver has drilled 21,190 meters as part of its 2024 exploration program year-to-date. The results include data from 217 holes, with a mix of underground and percussion drilling techniques.
Benoit La Salle, President & CEO, highlighted the high-grade continuity of silver mineralization and the expanding resource potential at Zgounder. Four underground rigs are currently operational, expected to yield further results in the coming months.
Drill samples are meticulously handled, with core samples analyzed at Afrilab in Marrakech and at the Zgounder Mine laboratory. Quality controls are rigorous, ensuring accuracy in silver, copper, iron, lead, and zinc assays.
David Lalonde, Vice-President Exploration, affirmed the accuracy and compliance of the press release with National Instrument 43-101 standards.
The business reported impressive Q2-2024 results, with record revenue of 13.7 Mln dollars, a 42% increase from Q2-2023, and a boost in cash reserves to 103 Mln dollars.
The company produced 432,667 ounces of silver, a significant gain along with a 12% rise in ore processing compared to the same quarter last year.
In Q2-2024, the company mined 114,025 tonnes of ore, averaging 1,253 tonnes per day, and processed 80,562 tonnes of ore.
The company’s Zgounder Mine expansion is over 95% complete, with commissioning on track for commercial production in Q4-2024.
