The ministry stated in a communiqué that the observation of the lunar crescent for Rabie-I 1446 took place on Tuesday, Safar 29, 1446 Hijri, corresponding to September 3, 2024, after sunset. It was confirmed that the lunar crescent was not sighted.
As a result, the month of Safar will have 30 days. The month of Rabie-I 1446 will therefore start on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
