Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, met with his Indonesian counterpart, Minister Retno Marsudi, on Monday in Bali at the second edition of the Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) held on September 2-3 in Bali, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
Bourita represented King Mohammed VI at the inauguration of the event, joining several African heads of state, government leaders, and ministers.
The discussion between the two officials exemplifies the positive relations between the two countries that have been developing in recent years. The signing of a memorandum of understanding on December 22, 2023, in Rabat formally established a strategic partnership between Morocco and Indonesia, according to the press release.
Launched in 2018, the IAF is a key economic initiative seeking to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties between Indonesia and Africa.
