Moroccan athlete Abdelillah Gani clinched the silver medal in the shot put event (F53) at the Paris 2024 Paralympics on Sunday at the Stade de France.
The Moroccan athlete set a new African record with an impressive throw of 9.22 meters.
Gani surpassed his own world record three times, ultimately achieving his best mark of 9.22 meters on his fifth attempt.
The Athlete was narrowly edged out by Georgia’s Giga Ochkhikidze, who secured the gold medal with a throw of 9.66 meters.
Morocco now ranks 42nd in the overall medal table, boasting a total of five podium finishes with two silver and three bronze medals.
