Prefectural Judicial Police in Tetouan in northern Morocco, in coordination with the Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested six individuals, including a minor, for their alleged involvement in disseminating false information and promoting illegal immigration on social media.
According to a security source, the National Police’s (DGSN) cyber surveillance teams detected online posts and digital content discussing plans for an assault on the security fence between Fnideq and Sebta and encouraging social media users to engage in illegal immigration.
Technical investigations and field inquiries led to the identification and arrest of the suspects in Tétouan, Casablanca, Souk Larbaa, Ksar El Kebir, and Tangier.
The suspects, aged 16 to 31, are currently under judicial investigation by the prosecutor’s office to uncover the motives behind these criminal activities.
The joint security operation is part of the strict measures and intensive efforts by the DGSN and the DGST to fight networks involved in illegal immigration and human trafficking.
