Tourist arrivals in Morocco have reached a new record of 10 million by the end of July 2024, marking a 15% increase year on year, according to the Economy and Finance Ministry’s Department of Economic Studies and Financial Forecast (DEPF).
In July, Morocco saw a record 2.6 million arrivals, up 20% from the previous year. Over the first seven months of 2024, the country set a new record for this period with 10 million tourists, reflecting a 15% increase, the DEPF noted in its latest economic report.
The number of overnight stays in hotels also grew by 8.4% by the end of June, reaching 12.7 million nights. This increase includes a significant 13.1% rise to 7.2 million nights in the Q2 of 2024.
In Q2, Tourism revenue increased by 9.4%, bringing the growth rate to 2.3% by the end of June. This follows a decline of 4.2% by the end of March and a strong recovery of 69.2% a year earlier.
