Teleperformance, a global leader in business services and call centers in Morocco, recently announced significant changes in its governance appointing Moulay Hafid Elalamy as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors, according to a company statement.
Teleperformance said it is reinforcing its leadership team to prepare for the eventual return of CEO Daniel Julien, whose contract has been renewed.
Thomas Mackenbrock was appointed Deputy CEO. His role will be pivotal in supporting Julien, to succeed him according to a timeline set by a committee consisting of Elalamy, Julien, and Mackenbrock, the statement added.
“I was honored to contribute to the revamp of Teleperformance’s governance structure, which has become more dynamic,” Elalamy said following his appointment.
“The company has grown into a global leader. I am eager to collaborate closely with [Julien] and Mackenbrock to shape the company’s future and enhance its management,” he added.
Moulay Hafid Elalamy, a native of Marrakech, is a Moroccan entrepreneur, businessman, and politician. He founded the insurance conglomerate, Saham Group, in 1995 and served as President of the Moroccan Employer’s Association (CGEM) from 2006 to 2009 before serving as Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade from 2013 to 2021.
Teleperformance reported consolidated revenue of €8.3 billion (USD 9 billion) and a net profit of €602 million in the 2023 fiscal year.
